Here is another activity that combines art with sensory play. :)Īlso check out THIS POST where we melted a big chunk of frozen pom poms! We laid out a towel for spills and got busy. I added a muffin tin and a spoon/shovel for a color sorting component. The indoor activity pictured was where I froze one color at a time. The most exciting part was getting to dump the bowl of colorful frozen poms out into the tub. The ice melted pretty quickly as it was a hot day, and then it became a poms in water sensory activity. The outdoor activity pictured was the one where I froze several different types and sizes into each ice cube slot. Using ice cube trays, I’ve put more than one different color/type/size of pom pom in each slot, and I’ve also put only one color in each slot. This activity could be done inside or outside (we’ve done both) and you could freeze the poms a few different ways. They are by far one of our favorite and most used activity/craft item. silicone baby food storage (also froze poms in this for bigger ice cubes) All opinions are my own, and I only link to products that I truly recommend. I hope that these ideas are helpful and inspire you toward hands-on learning experiences that feel like PLAY for your kiddos!ĭisclaimer: This post includes affiliate links which means I would earn a small commission if you were to purchase through those links. I gathered up a bunch of photos I had from activities I had done with Kade when he was between the ages of 1-2, and have also collected photos of new activities I’ve been doing now with Tatum (who is 19 months). ) When doing arts and crafts, you are exposing children to a new experience, allowing them to create, and usually building fine motor skills, vocabulary, and maybe even providing some sensory play ALL AT THE SAME TIME. Have you ever heard of anything negative happening from letting a child be creative? In the right context that is. Building these muscles are important for obvious reasons but I have also found, as a former early childhood teacher, that kids learn, and remember things better when they are up and moving, so incorporating gross motor skills into an activity is always an added bonus. ”Gross motor skills” are the skills used to control the larger muscles in our bodies that will eventually be used for walking, running, jumping, etc. Working on these skills, and strengthening these muscles can help with good pencil grip, handwriting, use of scissors, and several other basic skills that children will be expected to master their first year or two of elementary school. ”Fine motor skills” are the use of the small muscles in our fingers and hands coordinating with our eyes. Often times when we hear sensory play we think “messy.” It doesn’t have to be this way! You’ll find a couple of ideas here that can be just as fun, without too much mess. You can accomplish so much through a sensory activity from simply exposing your little one to a new experience, to building vocabulary, to pretend play opportunities. Some of the main areas we can focus on when engaging in learning activities for this age group are sensory play, fine motor activities, gross motor activities, and arts/crafts. For this reason, I felt the wider age range could be helpful. Every baby, toddler, and child develops so much at their own pace and in their own way, which makes it tough to put an exact age on any of these activities. I wanted to build on that a bit further, and put together a handful of activities for an even wider age group of 1-2 year olds. I did a post awhile back on Activity Ideas for 12-18 Month Olds and had a lot of positive feedback come from it. I don’t have research to back that up but just think about it- it’s crazy how much they learn those first couple of years. A lot can happen between age 1 and 2, am I right?! It has got to be one of the most significant years of development and change in a child’s life.

On merge, it generates a 16-bit DNG file. Auto crop will crop out the unfilled areas which are unavoidable when generating panoramas. You select your photos and have three projection choices in addition to auto: spherical, cylindrical and perspective. Photo Merge has only a few options and the preview is fairly small, but it can show you the areas where ghosting will occur. Adobe also drops support for 32-bit operating systems, so that means it runs only on or later and 10.8 or newer. Processing gets a boost from your graphics chip for more fluid operation in the develop module and import and export for systems with OpenGL 3.3 or DirectX 10 given how long they've been out, that shouldn't be an issue, though you'll need to upgrade to the latest graphics driver. I've been complaining about this for so many versions of every application that I can only assume either either other people don't care enough to complain, or that while Adobe cares a lot about shoving people into constant upgrade cycles it doesn't really care about how frustrating it is to follow its policies. I have to manually mirror my settings directories to Google Drive and Creative Cloud to make sure I've got the most recent set somewhere easily accessible. These drawbacks are ridiculous for professional tools and still true of so many Creative Cloud applications that it drives me to tears and sugar every time I have to upgrade or migrate. Unlike most modern cloud environments, it doesn't tell you where you're logged in and let you select one to sign out from. But the only option you have when logging into that third machine is to sign out of all the machines where you're logged in. CC lets you use the applications on two machines simultaneously, and if you want to use it on a third you have to log out on one. However, using the cloud version on more than two machines is still a pain. The alternative is to waste tons of space on Creative Cloud or Google Drive in order to store mirrored versions of all your presets. Unfortunately, Lightroom takes a performance hit when you work on external drives. Lightroom does let you store your settings with your catalog file, and really, if you're using the application on more than one computer the only efficient system is to store the catalog file and settings on a portable drive and carry it around. If you're switching machines, you have to dig into your system files to transfer all of your custom everything - including hidden folders on the - and there's still stuff that always gets left behind somehow. There's no way to create a copy on import or even to rename it on upgrade. For instance, you have to upgrade your old catalog not just to use it, but to import from it. Migrating and upgrading can be a major pain. Just the Smart Previews and regular Previews files for a single catalog of mine together take up more than 20GB on my portable drive. Otherwise, they'll use a huge amount of space out of your 20GB limit. Though it will work if you store your catalog in Creative Cloud, that only works if your catalogs are small and you don't use Smart Previews - which means you probably don't sync with the mobile apps and therefore have no reason to subscribe. Its database is based on SQLite, and that's why you still can't put catalogs on network volumes, either for personal or collaborative use. Lightroom remains hampered by its outdated architecture. For more information, read my review of the previous version. The last four modules are where you format output. Map lets you view photos by geotags or bulk add tags to untagged images. Develop is where the bulk of retouching and adding effects takes place. In Library you import and keyword photos and create collections, though there's a Quick Develop panel for quick-and-dirty adjustments. I'd heard rumors that LR6 would be moving to all subscription, but Adobe hasn't really added much to the mobile apps to make it worth it for a lot of folks.įor those unfamiliar with Lightroom, the software consists of seven self-explanatory modules: Library, Develop, Map, Book, Slideshow, Print and Web. Thankfully, the company still offers a perpetual-license version ($150, £100, AU$186) in addition to its cheapest-option monthly photography plan ( $10, £8.60, AU$10).
2) I have a UE Boom that all of a sudden won’t pair with my TV. It’s not on the ultimateears or iTunes Store.
There are 5 different types of brushes you can choose from round, taper, flat, chisel, terminal, along with an eraser brush. It makes drawing digitally feel really natural and smooth, since the size of the stroke changes according to your pressure. My first favorite feature has to be the pressure sensitivity setting. You are equipped with a set of brushes panel along with a layer panel, where you can organize your drawing, adjust blend mode and opacity, etc. It fits the most natural with the iPad screen.Īfter choosing your artboard size, you now move to where the real magic happens: the drawing board. My favorite artboard size to draw with is the standard landscape letter. This is a very generous and thoughtful thing an app can do. The app greets you with a variety of default artboard sizes to choose from. When I first opened Adobe Illustrator Draw (AID), I was impressed with its simple and clean interface. Over time, Adobe has done a lot of updates to this little app and it has evolved quite smashingly since its debut days. I first heard about Adobe Illustrator Draw a few years ago, but never got a chance to find any use for it. Working in a design studio in Boston and being a long-time Adobe user, I was excited and intrigued by this drawing app. I borrowed the iPad from work to explore all the hidden gems and wonders of Adobe Illustrator Draw. The app can be downloaded from the App Store.Have you ever wondered what else you should be doing besides lounging and binge-watching TV shows during a three-day weekend? For me, the answer is clear. Getting the idea from your head onto your tablet is as easy as ever, and sharing it with your friends (or the community) for feedback is a breeze. And best of all, there’s no annoying in-app ads. Of course, there’s also a share feature that allows you to get feedback on your creation, email it or save it directly to your device to share however you please.įor a free app, Adobe Illustrator Draw certainly offers an unprecedented number of useful tools for illustration. This is a great way to not only express your own self artistically, but to also upload a coloring page and let your child go to town.Īnd still, there are more tools at your disposal, including a line and shape tool which allows you to create a perfect straight line, square, triangle or circle. There’s also a “Color History” which keeps track of your most recently used colors, which comes in handy.Īnother great feature of the app is that it allows you to draw on top of a photo - either a photo you’ve taken with your device, a photo you’ve downloaded to your device, or a photo you’ve downloaded via the in-app market (which has a plethora of free photos, vectors, patterns and backgrounds for your use). Opacity can be edited, as well as color via a wheel and slider (or you can use stock color themes or themes you’ve created in Adobe Color CC). There are six brushes available, each of which can be re-sized from hairline to paintbrush size. “Owl King” created by Rainer Michael using Adobe Illustrator Draw.īut, more importantly, the Adobe Illustrator Draw app is a virtual playground to amuse your inner artistic needs. If you prefer to stick to photography, you might also enjoy our review of the Camera A+B app wirelessly connects your iPhone’s camera to the iPad. Still, the drawings that are there are absolutely stunning. Unfortunately, there aren’t very many community drawings yet available for your viewing pleasure - at least there aren’t many available to view within the app. The app allows you to browse community creations easily, and even allows you to follow certain artists and “appreciate” their work (equivalent to a Facebook “like”). In fact, you’d be astonished at some of the artwork that the Adobe community has created with the Illustrator Draw app. To make sure your banking needs are ready for this revolution to your art career, you may want to look at some of the best personal finance software for Mac.Īdobe Illustrator Draw has a sleek and simplified interface that is approachable for new mobile artists, but also robust enough for the seasoned illustrator to be considered useful. The newly updated iOS app allows users to create freeform illustrations using vector drawing tools. Along with Adobe Color CC, Adobe also updated the Adobe Illustrator Draw app. Just imagine how much more successful Battlefield Hardline would have been if you could pay 100$ to see everyone naked in it! I guess there's always Battlefront coming up and a marketing opportunity to sell gamers iconic sexy outfits from the Star Wars franchise, like Slave Leia, Slave Luke, Slave Chewbacca, Slave Nien Nunb or Slave TIE Fighter. Gal Gun: Double Peace - Shinobu Route - Part 2. I bet someone at EA is ripping their hairs out right now over the fact that they didn't come up with that first. Jump To galgun kaoruko true end with subtitles preview 1 Video Parts Jump To galgun kaoruko true end with. Hey, sex sells! If they priced it like that, they've probably done some market research that determined that they could get away with it. That's almost double the price of the game! These are all priced fairly in the 100 to 500 yen range, as you'd expect from DLC packs.īut then there's "Pheromone Z", which is a DLC item that allows you to look through the girls clothes all the way. There's even two called "Angel's Cutting Board" and "Devil's Meat Buns" that allows you to manipulate the breast size of the girls (I'd like you to take a mad guess at which of them does what). Most of it replaces the boring old schoolgirl outfits with things like witch, adventurer and exotic dancer outfits. Gal Gun: Double Peace is out in Japan and is now getting a bunch of costume DLC. At least AMD jumps to a smaller manufacturing process, hikes the supported memory speed and adds about 10 per cent more performance. Core i5-2400 and Core i5-2500 support TXT, Intel VT-d and vPro. It's a shame that Intel has moved the needle so little in the 15 months between generations, at least as far as the Core i5 family is concerned, though we do note that AMD's latest Ryzens also keep the same core/thread topology as their predecessors. All models support: MMX, SSE, SSE2, SSE3, SSSE3, SSE4.1, SSE4.2, AVX, Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology (EIST), Intel 64, XD bit (an NX bit implementation), Intel VT-x, Turbo Boost, AES-NI, Smart Cache and Intel Insider. In fact, it could easily be classed as the Core i5-8450 and no-one would be the wiser. Both are based on the third-generation 14nm++ process, share the same IGP and memory capability, cost the same, though there's a very minor increase in frequency. sheet to differentiate itself from the last-gen 8400. Intel's Core i5-9400, meanwhile, does very little on the spec. We'd also imagine the buy-in pricing to be lower than 'normal' parts, helping SIs hit agreeable price points that compete well with AMD Ryzen systems. The best guess is that these F-suffixed processors are aimed at system integrators who always ship their base units with a dedicated video card in place. They're priced identically, too, at least in quantities of a thousand units, and ship with identical TDPs, so we wonder why any enthusiast would go for them and miss out on potential goodness of Quick Sync Video and inherent ability to run in a system without a dedicated graphics card. Before we give this chip a dollop of analysis, it's interesting to see that Intel also has a number of IGP-less processors that are, for all other intents and purposes, identical to the standard models featuring UHD 630 graphics. |
